Earth is the third planet from the Sun, and it orbits once every 365.24 days (a year).

Earth is at the right distance from the Sun to have liquid water on its surface, and is the only place in the whole of the explored Universe where we know life to exist.

Earth has a large moon which it is thought formed when another planet collided with Earth 4.5 billion years ago.
